Business Development Manager

About AquaRealTime

Every day, 2 million tons of municipal, industrial and agricultural waste are discharged into the world’s water. This waste contaminates our drinking water supplies, can ruin our recreational areas, kills animals and even people, and is incredibly difficult to mitigate. This is a $17B-$50B per year problem that is only exacerbated by climate change.

AquaRealTime’s mission is to improve the health of our lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and oceans globally, through real time detection of contamination. Our patent pending solution leverages proprietary IoT sensor buoys in waterways and cloud analytics to help stakeholders contain environmental hazards.

Your role as a startup business development manager will be wide ranging, starting with growing the sales with our government and commercial customers. Once you've established yourself in a direct sales capacity, this position will lead to a leadership and strategic growth role for the company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Meet with customers both on zoom meetings and in person at conferences and site visits.

  • Manage inbound and outbound sales outreach campaigns.

  • Improve existing customer demos and marketing collateral.

  • Contribute to customer success along with other team members.

  • Continually analyze customer pain points and anticipate new opportunities to delight customers.

  • Strategize on company growth objectives and plans along with the executive team.

You have:

  • 5-10 years experience in growing sales with government and commercial customers.

  • Proven ability to expand sales rapidly in a technology market with educated and discriminating customers. Applicants must demonstrate examples of excellence and prior success.

  • Proven ability to not just follow a sales process, but create the sales playbook.

  • Ability to educate customers on a technical product, and to sell in a consultative manner.

  • Understanding and/or experience around water related infrastructure, biology, monitoring, treatment, and management.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Ability and experience creating a strategic plan around company growth, including product market fit and product roadmap, based on customer feedback and market understanding.

  • Ideally, experience working in a fast-paced, challenging startup environment.

  • Experience with water or environmental products and monitoring is a plus.

Compensation will be dependent on experience and comprised of base / variable split + equity stake contingent on performance. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact a growing company in its early stages and play a pivotal role in the future development of the company.
